Problems with startup

Hi, I’m experiencing an issue where my game crashes on startup. I have several mods installed, but the game doesn't seem to load them correctly. Has anyone encountered this? I’ve tried disabling them, but the issue persists. Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be much appreciated!

You should post in the technical help forum (viewforum.php?f=49) after reading the instructions (viewtopic.php?f=49&t=52433) for technical help.

I'm running [1.1.110] and, just now, Factorio is unable to come up: the log shows a SIGSEGV in Scenario.cpp while loading level.dat. [I'm on Linux Mint.]

NOTE: Because I am not running quite the latest version of Factorio, I don't think I can post a Bug Report or a Technical Help issue (but certainly will post, happily, if requested).

I also tried to load from the penultimate save, _autosave3, and it failed similarly.

I'm going to retry in 24h (and then 1w) on the assumption that this is a transient, catastrophic version update mismatch (downloaded assets, e.g. sprites?), about which the devs will quickly become aware and resolve post haste.

For background, I purchased Factorio in May and have been playing assiduously since then. I am in the middle of a v1.1 campaign and NOT willing to start over in v2 under ANY circumstances until I've completed my objectives in the current campaign. I understand that the devs have "moved on" mentally and possibly don't care to protect previous versions.

fwiw: I have auto-updates switched off, having been previously burned by v2.0.7, the initial introduction of v2.

UPDATE: I tried loading my previous checkpoint (before the autosaves) and that succeeded. I don't think this is a corrupted save on write because the _autosave was also corrupt, so it looks more like something got corrupted in memory and then was just bogus on output. This, anyway, gives me a recovery path (albeit with loss of some work). Fwiw, the onset of this (first load) saw a long pause during the "Loading sprites" phase, stuck at 49%. It did not crash, but was unusually long without progress and I closed it and retried. Baffling and frustrating at the same time. FURTHERMORE: all right, so after successfully loading the earlier version and running it for a few moments, I saved back to its file (I version number back-copies of the saves!) and then SUCCESSFULLY loaded the last, latest, most current save. Great, but I see I now get a problem while trying to resave "Saving map Space 1.36 Model Refinery". Ah, the log shows a SIGSEGV now while performing a checksum for script __TrainModeSwitcher. OK. So there's my problem and solution. I will purge this mod. (Thanks/apologies to all who might have engaged.)
