In addition to release time, I'd love any information the dev team could share about how to best prepare to play the expansion. Can a base game save be loaded in the expansion? Should I get my factory up to producing rockets so that as soon as the expansion launches I can start exploring the new content?
Can't wait!

It is already known you can load your existing saves in the expansion. However, working with it will be slightly difficult because of the changed rail curve radius. You can use existing tracks, but if you add new tracks, they will have the new radius.
How you approach the expansion is totally up to you. My personal plan is to start fresh with a completely new map generated by the expansion. Keep in mind also map generation has been changed and improved. There are so many changes and the 2.0 research tree is different to the 1.1 research tree, starting in the middle of the research instead of starting at the beginning might carry some technical dept you avoid by simply start from scratch.
