Hello,

I made a minimal effort to search for this topic and I know it must have been discussed or I'm really missing something. I absolutely love Factorio and it has ruined completely my social life, thats true love, but... :D

I find it a bit amazing that science just stops after you have finished all research. Why don't we have to keep feeding the labs with red, green, blue, purple to maintain the technologies or something?

Please point me to a tread or Friday Facts about this if it exists. My factory has become a bit boring now that all those science mechanics stopped.

The closest I've seen to something official is FFF 129, where they talked about infinite research in the section headed "The late game enhancement - Resource sinks." But it was phrased mostly as something they hypothetically might do, as opposed to necessarily intend to do.
You can, for example, research laser turret damage for as long as you would like, but every level is twice as expensive compared to the previous one

If you need a resource sink you can use VoidChest.

Currently after you finished all research you should build a rocket and leave the planet.

I don't think the developers planed out the game after the rocket.

You don't actually leave the planet, you just send a satellite up on the rocket. You can send as many rockets up as you wish, I might also mention.

Thanks for the info...

I'd like to see something more meaning then just resource sinks, like having a maintenance of the science. In order to keep the upgrades like bullet damage and item speeds you have to maintain them buy feeding the science labs.
