Cant launch Installer/zip folder

I cant launch the installer or get factorio to launch from the zip folder. I can launch and play fine from the steam, ideas?

I got it started on win 10 by starting it in win 8 capability and then starts normal.

This shouldn't be necessary. Using the zip version is very straightforward : Extract the zip content in a folder, get in the binaries folder, and run the exe.

I downloaded it more than a few times and only factorio from website does this. I have it working as it is it is supposed to be doing after running compatibility mode to get started.

Does what? You still have not explained what exactly you do and what is actually happening.
