After several hours of play system gets hot then system freezes and a forced restart occurs.

Hello, thanks for the report.
There is no crash logged in Factorio log, and macOS'es crashReport.txt doesn't mention Factorio in crashing threads either. You should reach out to Apple support to run diagnostics for your computer.
