convert single player to multi?

Is there a way to convert a single player game to multi player?
If there is can you describe in detail how to do it?
Can this game be played in LAN only mode without steam?
(I only ask these questions because I want to play with my little brother but he is only 12 and doesn't have a steam account of his own.)

If you mean starting a multiplayer game with an existing save file, yes. Just select the save when setting up the multiplayer game.

This is the exact info I was hoping for converting from single to multi.

Yes you can play in LAN and without Steam (you can download a steam-less version from Factorio.com, you might have to connect an account there to your Steam account if you haven't already). Did you have any other questions?
