Any suggestions for a graphics card that will run Factorio at its highest settings?
The card should cost under £100/$100 and passive cooling would be good.
Desktop PC
- Asus Prime B250-Pro motherboard

Get one with as much vram as you can, for that low budget a used card is the best option.
Check if your power supply has the pci-e power connectors your grafics card needs.

£100/$100
That's a 30% difference between the two values.
I think reddit has a board specifically for hardware-buying advice.

If you want to play in Full HD (1920x1080), you should get something that has PassMark score at least 3000, and 2 GB VRAM (but better 3 GB or more). For example
https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu. ... Ti&id=2815 or
https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu. ... 60&id=3233 should be good enough.
If you want to play on higher resolution monitor, you might need something more powerfull, for 4K something with PassMark score 8000 or higher, I'd say.
(Note: I consider High quality texture compression to be highest reasonable setting, setting it to None will give slightly better quality with completely unreasonable performance penalty, and VRAM requirement skyrocketting through the roof)

@posila thanks for the good upper/lower threshold scores to aim for.
Upping the budget to £134 gets me a Radeon RX 580 4GB with a Passmark score of 8500, this would seem to amply fit the bill.
Anyone got some thoughts on this card?

RX570 with 8Gbytes. Should cost the same, more memory. Factorio would not care for the (negibly) quicker GPU.
