Crash on loading

Post by Ohlmann »

Hello.

I play on Linux Mint, and from time to time, the game crash on loading with the sentence "Killed", like so :
1.848 Texture processor created (2048). GPU accelerated compression Supported: yes, Enabled: yes/yes. Test passed. YCoCgDXT PSNR: 35.83, BC3 PSNR: 33.82
7.566 Parallel Sprite Loader initialized (threads: 7)
Killed
Given the usual implication of that kind of message under Linux, I usually kill a bunch of browser process to make room in RAM and start again the game. Which work and make him load properly.

The question is : is that a "normal" linux behavior due to me overconsuming RAM, or should I take the time to make a bug report ?

How much ram do you have? On my windows Factorio will take 3-4 GB on startup... There's also a chance there's buggy graphic acceleration in your browser, if closing stuff consistently fixes it.
I have mods! I guess!

Yes, Linux will kill the game when it runs out of memory.
