how do I turn off debug mode?

My cat jumped on the keyboard, and now my game screen is covered in debug text overlay. How do I turn it off? Can't find the key my cat jumped on.
Only way I could find to turn it off is to save the game, exit the program and restart it. I suppose there must be an easier way.

Is it F5? One of the F keys I think.

F5, F6, and F7 are the three levels of debug

as a side note, F4 is the configure option for the four levels (+always)

hit any of the three debug level keys twice (once to switch to, and again to turn off) to clear any debug layer (besides always ofc)

The Wiki Hero throws out the cat juice from Phillip_Lynx's hand and replaces it with a link to the wiki:

After the 29 July update (through steam), it seems my game now has the debug mode permanently overlayed. At least the suggested shortcut keys here, F5/F6 and F7 (double tapped) does not switch off the overlay as expected.

Can anyone confirm the issues? Not sure if my laptop is just being funky again...

PS: I managed to get it away for a short while after alt-tabbing between my browser and Factorio and then zooming in and out all the way and running around a bit. But it result is short-lived..

after the update i didn't notice anything particular concerning the debug mode.

it could be settings that alter the regular mode, you can access the menu using F4, it would allow to check if some of the debug options are not configured to be permanently visible, a settings that is sometimes used to make the latency or framerate visible.

Did you look through list under F4 in always tab if it's checked there?
