0.17.53 -> 0.17.54 update is a "bad zip file"

I ran the factorio updater script (https://github.com/narc0tiq/factorio-updater) to update my headless server, but the update file it downloaded was a corrupted zip file. I tried to unzip it:

End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.

I tried running the factorio updater script several times with the same result.

FYI a full download of the 0.17.54 version worked.
