I cannot see the list of public servers

Hello,
Me and my freinds have been trying to create a multiplayer game and it was working at the weekend however it has stopped working. I was able to see a list of public servers and now i cannot. If i try to join my frainds game i can connect but the map doesn't download. we tried to leave the game for a few hours earlyer today to see if it would work and it didn't. We also tried to connect to eachothers IP addresses with the port for the server and that didn't work.
We have run out of ideas and i'm not sure why i cannot see a list of servers.
