Need some help with this problem...have tried following but none worked.
1) uninstall/install multiple times
2) tried solutions in the following thread (delete crop-cache.dat or everything in %Appdata%\factorio\), didn't work
3) tried the newest beta, also crashed at start.

The crash happens inside tier0_s64.dll which is a DLL from Steam. I don't know what it does, but maybe disabling Steam Overlay would workaround the crash. Do other Steam games work well for you?

It is also interesting the crash is not recorded in our log. This usually happens when some third party application injects its DLLs into the game and overrides crash handling routines.

Can you please download
Unzip it, run dump_on_exception.bat, confirm Microsoft's EULA and then launch Factorio through Steam (don't run Factorio.exe directly). It should create Factorio.exe_######_######.dmp. Zip the dmp file and upload it here, please. contains ProcDump from Microsoft Sysinternals ( ... 96900.aspx) and bat files to run procdump with parameters that make it create memory dump when Factorio.exe crashes or terminates.

Hey and sorry about the late reply!

So I got Procdump, and ran Factorio through stream with the process running.

And somehow (......) the game starts fine when Procdump is running... (doesn't crash after 3hr of play)

One exception was recorded now, but it doesn't trigger crash & does not produce a dump.

Now, the game did crash when I try to start it without Procdump running, but I can't get a dump for this behavior...

This probably makes it quite hard to debug, and sorry for having no good way to reproduce :/
At least now the game does run, although under a very strange condition, plz feel free to close this if it seems too burdening...
