Autoupdater does not find new updates.

Hi,
I have the 0.17 version, and it autoupdated to 17.1, but now it says that there are no new updates available. Is there anything else I need to do in addition to enable alpha updates? I'm not using the steam version.

As stated in the change log, you need to download the new version manually if you are not using steam.

I bought the game through Steam, how can I update it?
In the Steam Properties of the game, Beta test, need to enter some code, where to get it?

You don't need a code (that's only for closed betas and stuff) - there should be a dropdown list, and from there you should be able to select 0.17.x.

I am confused. About which thing I am not sure.
I thought if you used a zip copy of the game you could use the automatic update -- BUT, in the early versions of 0.17 this feature was broken. And I was under the impression the feature got fixed in 0.17.8. But I am currently using 0.17.9 and checking for updates finds nothing. So, which things am I confused about?

Did you turn experimental updates on in the settings?
It's a sneaky one but they are disabled by default even in experimental version
