Slow download of map when connecting to my headless server

Post by Opache »

Hi there,

I can't seem to get players that join my server to download at any significant speed. It takes them 10minutes to download a 10MB file.
I am on 100 DOWN and 50UP plan, running an actual speed test I get:
93.52 Down
36.32 Up
So speed shouldn't be a factor here either.

I am running the server as a headless server and I have port forwarded the correct port. I've also disabled the firewall on both my computer and on the router/modem itself.
I just can't seem to work out why I can't get the download quick enough.

If you have some form of QOS enabled on your router, you may need to adjust things for the headless server to have more bandwidth available.

In server-settings.json, check the max_upload setting.

I've checked the max_upload setting and it was sitting at 1024 which should be more than enough for a 1.5MB file. I then set it to 0 to give it a go as well and it didn't change anything.
I'll look into the QoS on the router but surely this shouldn't be this hard.

Thanks for your reply.

Post log of server and client after a session with the issue.
