Unable to LAN: Invalid packet (type GameInformationRequestRe

Hello everyone.

I am flabbergasted. I come to you in hope for enlightment .

I have 3 PCs. PC1 (Server), PC2 (Asus) and PC3 (Dell). Brands are not important, I hope.

PC1 is wired to my wifi router. The other two are wireless laptops.

I have been playing factorio with my girlfriend, me on PC1 and she on PC2. 20+ hours. No issues, except for the fact that her PC is old, and slowish, so I installed Steam and Factorio on PC3, and put PC2 away, out of the picture.

The thing is.. PC3 refuses to play Factorio LAN with PC1. I have checked the firewalls, disabled them, yadda, yadda. I even thought that something might actually be wrong with PC1, so I tried again with PC2, and sure enough, LAN play works.

Then I went back to PC3, and I looked at the factorio logs and I saw this:

I even tried to connect directly to server, IP/port 192.168.1.16:34197 and niet.. doesn't work.. here is the log of that attempt:

It's as if something is manipulating my UDP packets on this computer.. but I have no clue to what it might be. I don't have any fancy antivirus or something, just plain Windows 10 defender firewall.. I do have VirtualBox installed and it has the network adapter and drivers, so let me see what happens if I disable those... nops, same issue.. :/ I need someone else's brain to spar with this issue, because I am flabbergasted as to how I can solve it.

Looking at the logs... the versions are different... in PC3 I didn't opt in to the beta channel...

So I updated PC3 to the latest beta and sure enough everything works. Please kill me, I can't bear the shame. :(
