I was just trying out the PvP Production Score game mode for myself, in anticipation of a game with friends soon.
No one else was connected and I managed to play for some time.
However, at one point the message "pingpong1.factorio.com:34197 is not a valid address" popped op.
After pressing OK, it returned me to the game main menu.

I have set up the port forward this morning, port 34197 on UDP and that worked in the past (on another PC).
All references I find only refer to a version 0.14, no newer mentions seem to be there.

Can you help me out, as this PvP game might be rather close at hand.

My servers have been having this issue randomly.

DNS problem causes server to shut down, and not even attempt to save map.
Seems odd for a DNS problem.

Sorry or not updating. Did a internet game recently and managed to play 3 hours without error.

So for sure if it is still happening to my settings, it will be very intermittent.

I stopped using the default Ubuntu DNS cache package, and replaced it with a different package... Fixed problem.
