Hi,

I just gave up on a save because a mod got disabled after a minor game update.
I don't mind because it is fun to start over now and then, but I would prefer if I could choose when this happens the next time.

So my question is if there is a way to disable the updates?

In the Factorio properties in Steam I can only choose to auto update, update on launch or always update before other games. So that won't work...

How do people build mega bases? I doubt they run without mods, so there has to be a way..

You simply choose a version of the game in steam, see my signature.

use the package version. download and play a version as long as you want, with no forced updates.
