My game won't update I keep getting this "The 32bit version of Factorio has been deprecated with version 0.15. All Steam beta branches that should contain 0.15 or newer versions will contain 9.14.23 instead and won't update". How do I fix this?

You either get a 64bit OS or you stay with 0.14.

The message basically explains why.

From .15 onwards, Factorio will only run on a 64-bit OS. Afaik, the devs made this decision since it was getting quite time-intensive to keep the 32- and 64-Bit Versions in Sync. Furthermore, most users are running 64-Bit nowadays anyway.

I think the "No" of the devs was pretty much final... as they had good reasons why to stop supporting 32-bit.

You'll have to get new 64-bit capable hardware. But see it like so... a lot of software is upgrading to 64-bit nowadays so investing in new hardware will only benefit you in the long run.

So which one does apply in the 32-bit vs. 64-bit question?

Religion. Only 32-bit is pure! 64-bit is evil!

And no that wasn't sarcasm, that's irony because of how many people who still rely on 32-bit go on a holy crusade for the sake of beating an already dead horse.

I know this is probably considered necroing, but please excuse it.

Is there any programmers that are willing to reverse engineer the game and turn it to 32 bit? It could be a mod. This would be great! I know, I should get a new PC, but the thing is, it's my friend that has 32 bit, not me, and he doesn't have enough money to upgrade his pc. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could do this, because we just want to play the game together.
