I have a nvidia GTX960, and a 24" hp monitor connected via DisplayPort. I've noticed if I let the monitor go to sleep while factorio is running, everything is fine. But if I actually turn the monitor off, the NVIDIA driver appears to completely remove the monitor device, and factorio crashes with the age-old 'unable to create sprite, probably not enough of video memory' problem. I'm running windowed. If I have a second monitor on, factorio will appear as if it starts to move the window to the new monitor (it draws at least once on the other screen), but it still crashes.
This seems more a peculiarity of how nvidia handles displayport monitors than anything else, but I thought I'd mention it and ask if anybody else has seen it or has any ideas.
