[0.13.13] [Pending] Transient update display problem

This is a weird one.

On a machine with Ubuntu 12.04, via steam. The symptom is the window popping up, but containing no content -- just the window decorations surrounding a transparent rectangle.

Here's my test case sequence:

• Start -- fails.
• Try again twice more -- fails.
• remove mods -- succeeds.
• reinstate mods --succeeds.
• downgrade to 0.13.12 -- succeeds.
• upgrade to 0.13.13 -- fails
• re-run again -- succeeds.
• downgrade and upgrade again -- succeeded both times.

So in the end, I have no idea why this is happening, have a working game, and can't reproduce the issue. As far as I could tell, the logs didn't have anything interesting in them. I'm mostly posting in case someone else has a similar issue (Workaround: remove mods, run game, replace mods), or if it somehow is related to something else.

Since it failed to draw even Factorio logo, I suspect it had problem initializing OpenGL or hangs on loading of the logo. Which tells me removing mods did nothing, and it just randomly failed to start. To which I would suggest to reboot your computer before further troubleshooting.
