Periodic Freeze/Crash (w/log)

Hello, recently got this game on Steam and mostly been having fun with it (have about 10 hours according to Steam), however, since I installed it I've been having problems with the game periodically and inexplicably freezing, but not crashing to desktop. The program doesn't recover, simply hangs indefinitely, forcing me to kill the process. I've tried verifying the game files repeatedly, deleted the appdata folder, completely deleted the game and reinstalled, all to no avail. At one point I thought it might be related to autosaving, but the last time it happened, I think it had only been about 30 seconds or so since the last autosave.

I'm not going to paste the logfile because it's not throwing a single error, exception, warning, or any other info. Updated with log anyway. It plays normally and then just freezes.

Crash occurs in both single and multiplayer.

If you can make it freeze consistently, post the autosave.

Here's the most recent autosave from the last time it froze: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3AZP ... l9HOWJPeGM

Note, however, it didn't freeze during an autosave. It was about a minute after the last autosave that it crashed this time.

Generally, though, I can play for 20+ minutes without freezing even if I load an autosave. I've been able to play a couple hours at a time without incident, I honestly have no idea when it's going to happen. I can't reproduce it with any reliability, and as I said before, the log isn't throwing an error at me. As far as I can tell, whatever's causing the game to freeze is freezing everything, including the logging. I have, however, noticed a couple times now that odd things happen on the screen after crashing occasionally. The first time I noticed it, I tabbed out of the application to kill it and it went from an in-game screen to showing the loading screen, stuck at "Loading Sprites; 51%". Another time, it showed the pause menu, and I hadn't paused for several minutes. It's like it's displaying screens that it's already rendered a long time ago. The display won't change until I tab out, interestingly. I don't know what's going on on that front.

I would post a log anyway, but the last few times it's happened have been in sessions where I also played in multiplayer, so there was a lot of clutter and I didn't want to paste it all. Though, as I said, it's not throwing any errors. I'll probably paste one eventually when I have a single-player only session crash.

I was genuinely hoping someone else had already had a similar issue or knew a cause, because it's extremely hard to identify problems when there appears to be nothing wrong...

Okay, so I made a point to actually time it this time and it does seem to be autosave related.

Correction: Not linked to autosave after all, just coincidental timing on a few occasions. Still no identifiable cause. Any help greatly appreciated.

The only similarity I can find

Code: Select all

0.001 2016-05-07 05:58:30; Factorio 0.12.33 (Build 18092, win64, steam)

Code: Select all

EDIT: from viewtopic.php?f=49&t=24899

Code: Select all
