IPv6 - Troubleshooting

So after about 3 hours of troubleshooting for my first multiplayer I ended up using a 3rd party client I found called Evolve.

Basically evolve is shit and can lag the game. I finally successfully forwarded my port and have been connecting and hosting to IPv4 servers great.

Today I found a game I much wanted to join though host is using an IPv6 address.

Trying the address with brackets and port and without brackets... The dreaded error.

Notice
Couldn't establish network communication with
server.

Not another three hours of troubleshooting, pleeease what do I do. Oh man, I would've gifted this game to at least one other gamer by now if it wasn't for the tricky port forawrding IP address multiplayer connection. Maybe I am learning something at least.

I just can't wait until build .13 when I hear co op games will be much easier to connect to. Easy as right click on steam friend and join game? Should be as simple as something like that but currently it seems mandatory troubleshooting is involved.

Anyone got any ideas why I'm unable to connect to an IPv6 address when Ipv4 seems to work fine?

I can't speak for your case with the IPv6, but I know in my case it wouldn't work because.... my ISP does not support it.

A simple sanity-check would be to go to http://whatismyv6.com/ and see if you really have IPv6 connectivity...

It basically comes down to Comcast/internet service provider not providing it..

http://test-ipv6.com/ ... this was helpful

Annoying isn't it? They come up with this new protocol to make the internet work better, then very few companies actually provide the service.
