When I try to run 0.11, everything works perfectly fine.

But when I try to run 0.12, I get the following error:

Last login: Sat Jul 18 15:05:04 on ttys000
Computer:~ a$ /Volumes/factorio\ 2/factorio.app/Contents/MacOS/factorio ; exit;
0.000 Error Paths.cpp:126: Failed to encode executable path as UTF-8.
0.000 Error Util.cpp:45: Unexpected error occurred. You can help us to solve the problem by posting the contents of the log file on the Factorio forums.

What can I do to fix this?

Failed to encode executable path as UTF-8.
Where is factorio installed?
Does the path have any strange characters / spaces in it?

If so, try installing into a short space-free path and see if that helps

Computer~ a$ /Applications/factorio.app/Contents/MacOS/factorio ; exit;

I tried deleting it and reinstalling it on my Mac in my applications folder on different locations and users but I still get the same error.
I should also mention that 0.11.22 works perfectly fine but when I try to update to 0.12 from 0.11.22, it errors out.

Hi, this looks suspiciously like what we're reporting in the bugs here:
