Factorio crashes upon installing mods

Dear all,

Whenever i install mods through the ingame mod manager the game crashes during the restart, specifically during the "loading sprites" section.
When i try to restart Factorio i get the following message from steam:

An error occurred while updating Factorio (missing executable):
F:\Steamibrary\steamapps\common\Factorio\bin\x64\Factorio.exe

After downloading the file and restarting, the mods have not been downloaded or installed.

I can manually add/remove mods to the folder and the game will work fine.

Things i have already tried:
Uninstall Factorio AND steam, delete all files to make sure
Install everything on a different hard drive
Update my drivers

Any help/suggestions?
