[1.1.72]Crash while away for 10-15m

I've build a new system last week (7600X) and had a gaming-session before on this current system prior to upgrading it to windows 11. Since the upgrade I've updated all my drivers and firmware. Memory has been left on default since it doesn't support EXPO and when trying to mimic XMP settings it wouldn't run stable (even before changing to windows11) so I just didn't bother and left it on default (JEDEC) DDR5-4800 40-39-39 @1.1V instead even though it goes upto DDR5-6000 with higher voltages (I've had some cinebench r23 runs completed with higher than default settings). I'm telling this since I think some of the error-lines seem memory-related

I would buy memory from a different manufacturer and return this one if still in the return window. If that is not an option check for BIOS updates, they can improve memory compatibility a lot on an immature platform.

hmm, with new EXPO-memory (2x16GB instead of 2x8GB) that runs stable in cinebench R23 at DDR5-6000 38-38-38 again a crash now after only playing a few minutes. The only difference is now with KB5020044 installed:

Those crashes are all in different parts of code, this system is just not stable.

thx for the feedback.

I'll try running the game from the integrated APU first (to exclude the 1070) and then a bios reset (already latest firmware) + complete clean reinstall this weekend instead of the cloned/upgraded w10=>w11 setup I'm running right now.

Is it expected behavior that despite connecting to the APU that the GPU is still used?

I thought this was only an option on laptops. I saw a load that was about the same on both GPU and APU percentage-wise while in the background I was playing a youtube video to recreate the circumstances as close as possible.

Have you tried running something like memtest86 to make sure you don't just have bad sticks? Iirc, you'll need to run it 8+ times to be sure of any good results.

I was planning to do so, but I forgot to launch it yesterday.
I'd be surprised since this new pair has EXPO and the problems didn't start with this new set. I'm more thinking about my Corsair RM550X which is now 6.5 years old (80plus gold), but that should be more than enough for this setup:
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X Boxed
  • RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo F5-6000J3636F16GX2-TZ5N
  • Mobo: ASUS PRIME B650M-A WIFI
  • GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 WINDFORCE OC 8GB (rev. 2.0)
  • SSD: Samsung 980 Pro (with heatsink) 1TB
  • PSU: Corsair RM550x
  • HDD: Seagate Exos X16 SATA (Standard model), 16TB (not used to store games)
  • CPU-heatsink: Noctua NH-U12S redux
  • additional CPU-fan: Noctua NA-FK1, 120mm
  • Monitor: Gigabyte M28U
I'm gonna put a power meter on it too to check the power-draw, but I'd be surprised to see anything high above 400W (EU 230V) since Heaven and Cinebench R23 only made the cpu draw 98W and the gpu 172W:

I found out the motherboard doesn't officially support DDR5-6000, but only 5600(OC). Applying the EXPO-profile and then dialing back the memory-speed to 5600 got the board stable in heaven/cinebench so I guess I only have to blame myself and the shop :oops:
