Game downloads and installs fine. When I hit Play in steam it looks like it starts and immediately quits.

I open a CLI and start the binary manually:

$ ./bin/x64/factorio
0.000 Initializing Steam API.

0.000 Steam requires game restart, restarting...

The game doesn't restart though, but just terminates here.
Attaching the logs here, can't see anything particularly interesting in them.
Tried to run a file verification on steam, which reports back all files successfully validated.

Try restarting your machine if you have not already.

Unfortunately, restarting my computer didn't help, the messages are just the same now, as they were before.

FWIW standalone Factorio starts just fine, and other steam games as well, it appears to be only the combination steam and factorio that fails.

Is 0.13.20 the most current demo?

The log was from 2016, is either not getting far enough to create a log or creating it in a different directory, but I suspect it is a steam issue anyway.
