I am currently playing a heavily modded game and I am about 350hours in. I know that spaghetti modding is not very good but I started the game using Krastorio, later I added the extended late-game for Krastorio. After winning, I added Space exploration with all the required mods. At first (After solving the compatibility issues) it was ok but the longer the game goes the save times and load times take longer and longer. A simple automatic autosave takes 5-10 minutes. It is becoming very hard to play. I did extend the timer between autosaves but I am looking for a more "clean" solution. When loading the game I can reach the menu pretty fast but when I try to load a safe I can go and make some tea in the meantime. Is there a way I can salvage this game? Thank you!

Probably because the save gets too big. How big is the resulting save?
Keep in mind that you can delete/trim surface with SpaceExploration, that improves the performance.
Feel free to upload the save so we can test as well.

Yeesh... yeah, that's the reason for the long saves and loads.

May want to see if you can clean up some of the unused chunks from that save....

For me, it saves in ~15sec. Do you have a SSD? That would speed things up massively.

What makes your save big
Calidus Orbit - You can get 700MB by deleting it.
Nauvis - You can get 160MB by trimming it.
