[1.1.39] Corrupt map: unknown tile

Post by legionair201k »

When trying to load the attached Save, loading fails with
Corrupt map: unknown tile 128. Chunk {42, 23}
Relevant lines from the Log:

Code: Select all

 318.227 Loading map /home/i/bin/factorio-edge/saves/80_Energizzeror_02.zip: 48483580 bytes.
 318.276 Loading level.dat: 163755103 bytes.
 318.292 Info Scenario.cpp:197: Map version 1.1.39-0
 322.840 Warning Map.cpp:346: Map loading failed: Corrupt map: unknown tile 128. Chunk {42, 23}
 323.638 Error AppManagerStates.cpp:1591: Corrupt map: unknown tile 128. Chunk {42, 23}
This goes back through all Saves over the last ~48h gametime, including all autosaves ofc. So it would be rather painful to go back that far.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

PS: mods.7z is a segmented archive, to bypass size-restrictions (if 7z complains, just remove the trailing .7z in the filename)

I can fix the corrupted tile but there is another corruption in script data, which could be solved easily by deleting script data, but that might screw up internal state of the mods.

Thanks for the amazingly fast reply!

Assuming it will load at all, do you think deleting script.dat would have severe after-effects?
Something crashy, etc only visible much later? Or could i hack around that directly in the mod-files? Like re-initializing some state on load?

Also, is there a way i could have found the corruption in the files myself?
I spent about an evening trying to get anywhere with zlib-flate, hexedit, and friends, but after reading up on the forums, it seems not possible without access to source? Or is there another way to map the error-messages to portions of the file?

I couldn't get the script.dat load today and I need to work on something else, so here is the save with fixed tiles and deleted script.dat

Deleting script.dat can break modded stuff, it really depends on how much the mods are resilient to their state being lost.
