I am playing in a multiplayer world with 2 friends, and I have much worse performance then they have.
I know I can alter game speed, but I would prefer not to for obvious reasons.
The reason why I believe there is something wrong is because I have the same CPU (R7 5800x) as my friend,
yet he can consistently run at 1x speed.
I notice that CRC is taking ~4ms longer on my machine, which is quite bewildering.
My CPU usage for the entire system is sitting at ~25% and factorio uses ~10%.
No mods were used. Enemies are all killed.
The world is converted from pre space age. Before space age, my performance was already subpar, now it's worse.
Factorio version 2.0.15 (build 80108 expansion, win64)
This is my game running at 1x speed.
This is my game running at 0.65x speed, the maximum I can.
This is my friend's game running at 1x speed.
This is my friend's game running at 0.65x speed.
The save file.
The log (I redacted the paths to %appdata% and steam root)
[2.0.15] Lower UPS than someone with same CPU
Re: [2.0.15] Lower UPS than someone with same CPU
This question is probably better suited to the Technical Help subforum. There are a lot of things that can affect performance on a particular machine.
Do you have any items checked in the F4 debug options "always" tab?
Factorio is heavily dependent on memory speed and latency. Do you and your friend have the same motherboard, memory, and BIOS settings? Do you both have discrete graphics cards?

Factorio is indeed limited by memory speed more often than CPU. You'll have to compare your hardware specs in more detail, in particular, RAM memory.

Also check if he has xmp or expo enabled on their bios, if they have it enabled, check yours.
If you do not enable it, you will likelly be running your memory modules at a lower speed, usually there is no harm enabling expo/xmp but some memory chips may behave unstable depending on the mb they are used and the ammount of installed ram sticks (nothing bad will happen, the system may simply crash if it's unstable)

Only fps is shown always.
Memory is both 32GB DDR4 3200MHz (1600MHz dual channel), as checked by hwInfo.
My GPU is 3060 Ti, his is 3070. But rendering doesn't seem to be the bottleneck here.
