.14.22 - Ammo bar changes size after prototype change

We are aware of them, but they have low priority. We have more important things to do. They go here in order not to take space in the main bug thread list.

.14.22 - Ammo bar changes size after prototype change

Post by Nexela »

I thought I seen a bug report resembling this before but I can't find it. So I will post it here. Apologies if this has already been reported.

Changing the magazine size of an existing ammo item causes the ammo bar to grow beyond the icon size as well as the item keeping the old magazine_size as current ammo count.

Steps to reproduce:

Load Factorio.
Give yourself a couple of stacks of firearm magazines.
Put them in a chest.
Save and quit Factorio.
Edit demo-ammo.lua and change the magazine_size to 5.
Load your save and observe the ammo in the chest.

Heh, this isn't really so much a bug as a result of someone really trying to break the game.
After all, there is absolutely no method to cause this to occur (except maybe using a command to set ammo count, which might not have a safety check) aside from changing mods, which really shouldn't count.

Saw this before when I was messing with combat balance, but ignored it since it has no impact on gameplay.
My Mods:
Modular Armor Revamp - V16
Large Chests - V16
Agent Orange - V16
Flare - V16
Easy Refineries - V16

We might fix this one day but for now I'm just going to leave it as it is.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
