[1.1.8] "Continue multiplayer game" saves IP address instead of hostname

I connect to a friend's server by hostname and port, like "example.com:100". Sometimes this server's IP address changes, and when this happens, the "continue game" button fails to connect until we click on "connect to host" and enter the hostname again or the new IP address.
It strikes me that the usual use case when connecting through a hostname would be to continue to use that hostname even if DNS records change.
