Biters attack trees/rocks

I couldn't find a duplicate issue through searching (or a bug template). If this is a duplicate, sorry!
Operating System: MacOS 10.14.6
Game Platform: Steam
Version: 0.17.79
This happens very rarely, but sometimes biters will attack terrain objects. Yesterday, I finally saw this happening (versus vague guessing) and captured a screenshot:
The attacked objects are always close to base defenses. Some objects I think have been attacked multiple times.
If any other information would be helpful, please ask!
