[0.17.31] Could not load downloaded map, trying to apply migration

Not sure if this is a bug, or if I did something wrong somehow (I don't remember having messed in the data/ folder (where the migration files are) or anything, just did autoupdates... I think after downloading an initial 0.17.x fresh).

When trying to join a multiplayer game (the server is also at 0.17.31; headless; linux), I get this message:

I found some older forum threads like this one: viewtopic.php?t=44804
And I tried to remove the specific migration file, but to no avail. It still errors about that migration file, even though it no longer exists.

Downloading the game client anew from the website works.

The save game that I put on the server was generated by the factorio install that I am also trying to use to join the game.

Why would multiplayer even by trying to apply migrations? Are you on the same Factorio version, mod versions, etc?

No mods are (or have been) installed in my 0.17 install, both client and server.

As for the version, I wrote "the server is also at 0.17.31".

As for why multiplayer would even by trying to apply migrations? Maybe that's the bug ;)

There is not supposed to be any migration file with that name in the released game. If it still exists that means you probably installed an update for the game over top of an old install instead of letting it do a clean install. Or, you extracted the zip on top of the existing game - which you also shouldn't do.

In any case, the error is on your end and you need to delete the local files and do a fresh install. The error you're getting is a catch for when people do one of the above things and corrupt their local game files.
