[0.16.17] Start up crash on Linux.

Post by goldenscruff »

When ever I have tried to start up Factorio on Linux, (16.17) within 0.418 seconds Factorio crashes rendering Factorio unplayable.

This is the content of factorio-previous.log

" 0.000 2018-01-23 19:16:18; Factorio 0.16.17 (build 35127, linux64, alpha)
0.053 Operating system: Linux (Ubuntu 15.10)
0.053 Program arguments: "/home/sean/Desktop/factorio/bin/x64/factorio"
0.053 Read data path: /home/sean/Desktop/factorio/data
0.053 Write data path: /home/sean/Desktop/factorio [857573/934765MB]
0.053 Binaries path: /home/sean/Desktop/factorio/bin
0.068 System info: [CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz, 8 cores, RAM: 3926MB]
0.069 Display options: [FullScreen: 1] [VSync: 0] [UIScale: system (100.0%)] [MultiSampling: OFF] [Screen: 255] [Lang: en]
0.115 Available display adapters: 1
0.115 [0]: resolution 1920x1080px at [0,0]
0.116 Create display on adapter 0. Size 1280x720 at position [310, 162].
0.415 Initialised OpenGL:[0] GeForce GTX 550 Ti/PCIe/SSE2; driver: 4.5.0 NVIDIA 352.63
0.415 Video memory size (dedicated/total available/current available): 1024/1024/893 MB
0.415 png_ptr == NULL

0.415 Error Util.cpp:49: Failed to load window icon! Loading from: /home/sean/Desktop/factorio/data/core/graphics/factorio-icon.png
0.417 Goodbye"

I do have the file "factorio-icon,png" within the graphics folder.
This hasn't happened on 0.16.16 ever before thus I suspect downgrading will fix the problem, or upgrading my slightly out of date ubuntu (its more than 2 years old)

I cant find the original post that i would be duplicating so why was this moved to duplicates?
If you can find the post could you please link it and not just find that you have the same problem and move both into the duplicates because then the dev team will most likely not find this terrible bug

There were about 20 posts about this bug and it was already fixed for 0.16.18 that released a while ago.
