[16.2] Unexpected error on loading save

Similar issue loading save game, base "mod" only, Mac OS. [16.4]
Looking at t-lor's log file it does seem like a different cause, so it might be a separate bug.

When trying to load from the start menu or from within another game that does load, the load progress bar goes to full then it crashes. A pop up window gives the message you can see in the log file, "Unexpected error" etc. The Factorio program becomes frozen and I have to force quit the application.

I've done this a few times, I've noticed slight changes in the error's stack trace in the log file. The first is most common.

When the HeatBuffer error happend, I actually got past the start game background and the save file game was rendered to screen before it threw the same error. The game froze from then.

The autosave files from the same game also cause the same problem.

What dosen't cause the crash:
-loading a very new [16.4] game (within 1st min)
- loading megabase saves from [15.xx]
- loading a save from [13.xx]
- loading a an autosave from a [15.xx] megabase, ie, re-saving a large save from [15.xx] doesn't seem to cause problems
