So I decided to download 0.15.3 yesterday to try it out and I ended up starting on a tiny island. I just would like to suggest some kind of check to make sure that the start area is not a 6x3 island of nothing. I don't believe this is a bug with the 0.15.3 version but if it is never mind.

Yes, its a misspelling of biters, but still.

It refers to the enemies in the game. Spawners, biters, and spitters. They spawn when you pollute enough, and try to kill you and eat your stuff.

Bitters, along with Spiters, are your allies in the never-ending war with Biters and Spitters.

A shorthand for both biters and spitters. The B comes from the Biters, the tt from the spitters and the rest is what both have in common.

Lol, that's kinda funny, but I don't believe that is true.
Its just a mispelling of biters, from back before spitters existed. Instead of calling em buggers or aliens or natives or whatever, they were just called biters since there were biters, worms, and spawners, and only biters attacked. However, its easy to put 2 ts instead of 1, hence bitters.

I started a fresh game and was welcomed by this: Me on an island. Not just a regular island, an island just my size
I restarted the game before having the presence of mind to save the map exchange string.
Which made me wonder: Who else has encountered this situation? Island with no resources, Walking an inordinate distance to find something?
Food for thought, but I thought everyone would enjoy a chuckle.

A pretty minor bug I guess, but a bug (?) still - started a new game only to find myself stuck on the tiniest island ever...

it's a known issue, but considered a minor one. the devs will be doing something about it in a future release.
just try and laugh it off a try a new seed.
