[2.0.28] Menu simulation crash [with Cerys]

When the mod Cerys is installed, one of the menu simulations is a black screen, which I believe means a game crash.

It may be helpful to note that Cerys is intended to have no effect on vanilla gameplay or logic (despite modifying a few vanilla prototypes, eg adding tile transitions to new tiles in the mod.)

Repro: Install the mod and wait a few minutes on the menu.

Thanks for the report. A game crash will get the "Factorio crashed" popup. The black screen means there was an error showing the menu simulation. That's not uncommon for mods that change things with the simulations expecting a specific state of things.

You mean this popup?

I reproducibly get Factorio to crash while cycling through menu simulations with Cerys and setting Video Memory Usage = Medium,
It works without Cerys mod, so at first I suspected the mod.
However, it also seems to work with Cerys mod installed and setting Video Memory Usage = All, so I am no longer sure whether this is solely down to the mod.

The factorio version used is 2.0.28 (build 81088 expansion, win64).
I have attached the log file:
