Mm really looking forward to multiplayer!
I know it is something that wont happen soon, but anyways I think I will really enjoy it.
And hope it doesn't unleash the bugcalypse :)

It was easy to read all the forum some time ago, but now the comunity is bigger, and I sometimes use the "mark forums read button", I also like to read all messages because I love the game, but is not easy to read all of them, so I understand you :)

I convinced a few friends to pick up the game and we can't wait for multiplayer. We are used to companies promising multiplayer and then ditching it last minute, much respect to Factorio team for following through :D

Between the modding and multiplayer support you won't even need to advertise once Factorio gets past Steam Greenlight (which is a joke really, don't be worried). Together they will keep the game alive longer than you can imagine. I think you may need to make sure the web server can handle the capacity of all the traffic you will get when you feel ready to push it on Steam ;)

kovarex wrote:More than 5 pages of Ideas and Suggestions are waiting. The question is what exactly should we do about it, as the time spent on the forums is getting bigger and bigger every week, and I can easily "wake up" after reading it for 2 hours straight and not doing any real work on the game. We are starting to have these habits of reading in quick mode, which usually means just getting some general idea of what is going on in the thread and we usually don't read at all when we see that some other staff member replied already. So if we didn't respond to your thread, please don't take it personally, and If you feel it is important, you can bum it after some time (week at least).
Well, I saw that coming. I'm very interested for those ideas, because I have the best inspirations from them, but it's hard to follow with reading all that stuff and I don't know, if I can keep up with that in future. Spring is coming, new team at work...

The traffic has become more and more during the last month. But I'm sure that it is nothing compared with that in a very real future! So I think we need to do a little bit, to be prepared for that.

There are some things we can do:
The ninth discussion about a different splitter (just to take my most liked example). That costs time. It's unfair to the writer not to answer, but also unfair to the others which knows all that already.
I think those thing should be moved to one thread and the origin thread is closed. Then the idea is safed at the right place and can be discussed, and at the same time the writer gets feedback to search a bit better in future.

Sometimes the ideas are very similar, but have a significant difference. Now linking would be good. So I search for articles. In most cases I'll find only mine :), because I know, what I'm searching and use my words. The words for searching are a problem. Sometime I use for example bots, the logistic bots, or logistic robots. Others used flying saucer, copter... I mean the posts can be tagged with phpbb (a plugin?)? That would help.

Sometimes a clear dev-opinion would help to short the discussion. A short note, that X is needed before Y for example. For example: there are two opinions. I think both ideas are good. Then Tomas says one sentence and the direction is clear. Such things. Ok, in most cases you do that already...

And last: I can offer to moderate a bit. In my opinion I'm already doing that (ok, sometimes, in very seldom cases I mix that with my ideas :) ). And not because I'm keen on it: I just want to become the world best game :) .

Cannot promise to read every day and I would like to have co-moderators. But this is also a way which might help a little bit to keep overhead low and become qualified suggestions.
