As for communication - telegram is a extremely good tool, technically as perfect as Factorio in its belt system. It's fast, reliable, allows posting pictures and files just by alt-prtscr, ctrl-v. It's very easy to set up a group for 3-4 people you need to discuss some issue. It's also good to keep some group with all programmers or all artists (with notifications off) where things that allow offline reading during compilation are posted. It even supports movies, gifs and mp3's with just ctrl-c-ctrl-v of a file, so a screencapture with gifcam tool is a direct way to point some thing quickly. in like 3 seconds. Plus all of it works on a cellphone, does not eat memory and work very fast. It also has superfast search across all threads. even with yearly history. It's sorta what skype was before microsoft got hands on. but no voice communucation.

As for code review - I once used p4swarm for perforce. Not the most brilliant tool for out there, but did its job. Anyway I personally think that code reviews should be pefrormed face-to-face with two guys sitting at the monitor - one that is the owner of the code, the other is committer. Otherwise many things get skipped, review should be an interactive talk, not an offline rare chat like a forum board.
