Before I get started there is a Summary at the bottom.

Introduction

Hi there.
I have been playing this game for a week or so and I have became addicted to it like a lot of other people (totally going to blame the developers :D ) and I finally got myself into trying to make a map myself. I have been thinking for a while whilst looking up youtube and I came across the famous Super Hostile Minecraft Series by Vechs. I love these series so I thought it would be cool to make a map that is more about fighting and strategic plays rather than building an awesome factory. So because I know that his map series is really popular among the Minecraft Community and that there are probably a lot of people that play factorio also play minecraft and they may know Vechs and Super Hostile, so I have asked Vechs on Youtube whether or not it would be ok if I used his name whilst giving him the credits for said name as well as the awesome idea, however he have not replied yet (I send the message on Youtube so I'm not entirely sure if he will even find that message in his inbox) but in case if the answer is no or he wont reply and some people are annoyed that I "Steal" his ideas I will change the name.

Idea

So, the idea of a Super Hostile (CTM, Complete The Monument) is to go through various areas of the map that are getting harder as you progress whilst looting chests and trying to survive to complete a Wool Monument. Due to there being no wool the overall goal may be to get the Rocket Defence or maybe to collect various items by not crafting them. So the idea in Factorio would be that you have different islands that you have to progress through whilst fighting Biters and gaining loot from crashed ships and abandoned Mines/Bases.

Story

It is not complete but I have a bare idea of what I want it to be.

Before you crashed you used to work in a factory building various armor pieces and over specialising more in defence and protection. Your Commander has send you and a lot of other men on ships to a mission, however during your trip you have been shot down by strange alien forces. You have crashed on a unknown planet covered by biological entities called Natives and it looks like you may be the only survivor left. (Adjust to the amount of people that are playing ^^) You must progress through various areas and discover more crashed ships and abandoned mines/bases to help you get resources and destroy the Natives of this island so that you can contact your base and conquer the planet.

What I Need

This is the part that I don't know what to do.

I definitely need someone who is capable of writing scripts with lua.
I need to make some chest to be indestructible as they will be near biters and I don't want them to be destroyed.
Another thing I need is to set the starting technologies. I want that you start with Armor Crafting 1,2,3 at start and other things.
I know that you need to mess around with config.lua but I just am uncapable of writing in lua (or any other languages in fact) I can only understand what the file might be trying to do but I cannot write any scripts.

I would also need any other creative people who can think of a story line or give ideas of loot and how the game should be played. If you can combine maps somehow then I could also use another mapper for this project. And as always once the map has something I would need Beta Testers that could hopefully record and post it on youtube so that I could get overall view of how they play the game.

I would like to keep the team small (If there will be anyone wanting to do this kind of project with me at all) so around 4-5 people would be good.

Summary

I am building a map based on fighting instead of building. I need mainly 1 or 2 people who can write scripts that work and maybe some cretive people out there who can give me some great ideas for how this can work out. This thing will NOT work without anyone who can write a lua config.

hello I saw your post and I am very interested in helping i love minecraft and i love this game and I can help with mostly anything but coding I don't know what code you were talking about but I can code in java script python and learning C++ and others so learning this one could be easy to learn i would love it if you would let me help

Well 1st theres not much coding... it just Lua (hard for me easy for others) and then using the In-game editor to create most. Also is this a reference to Vech's Minecraft Super Hostile Map series?

It would be really nice if you would be able to code some lua configs, I have no clue where to start about this since I know practically nothing of actually coding.

I watched a few full lets play from several people and I enjoyed it.
