This is a thread for collecting good map exchange strings.

Edit: Seems to have a little too few enemy bases...
Edit2: Fixed the code to work in 0.10.12.

I'm gonna build my next awesome factory here.

Your map string is shown in red in the map generator when pasted and cannot be used.
The factorio log says: Invalid exchange string(Map version 0.11.0-6 cannot be loaded),
I am using factorio version 0.10.12 64 bit. Sounds a bit strange as 0.10.12 is
the latest version or are map versions counted differently?

Um.... I forgot about the version check... :-) I made this map in my build of 0.11, I'll edit the post.

I like the starting location a lot . Wood is somewhat rare but still enough.

It is a world with a nice mix of desert with lakes, ocean and open desert plains. The starting-position is somewhat challenging, there is not much coal and copper and the next oil is a bit faar. But even then realy big patches exist in train-range, but you have to defeat the alien nests next to them first.

I used verry low frequencies on Deposits, big as size and verry good as richness, as well as standard enemy bases.

PS: Landfiller mod could be grat on this map, I think.

can someone show me a good coastal map witch is like a sea front ... lots of resources nearby not billions of trees and biters is that too much to ask

Highly fragmented landscape, good luck getting that coal. Why the high fragmentation? Restrictions breed creativity. A main buss won't work very well. Break yourself of that design. This map is not OCD friendly.

You start on an island, but you can get off with ~70landfills (if you place them right) to get to the mainland.

I think it'll give some nice gameplay, as you have to get off the island to get more recources soon (best before using up the tiny amount of stone on the island ;)) and have to bring everything to the main base by train or other means, opening the island further and further up for invasions :)

This one is good (in my opinion) has iron copper and coal right next to eachother but not too close.
along with oil.

I'm sorry, but that last one.... needs more info. For instance, it requires a mod to cross the water, and a Version of RSO for those ores and enemy spawns. How can I tell it is RSO? Ores on the coast and perfect little squares for enemy base spawning.

There is a small bug in game with map and RSO which might be causing this. Sometimes ore spawn looks clipped on minimap if you use charting commands to discover it. It will get properly updated if you go there or radar scans it. It might be true for enemy bases also - didn't investigate it that far tho.

You Need landfill to cross over. RSO Version 1.4.7 and endless rescources 0.3.0.
I have another start with a small Island which is connected to the mainland if you want that.
