Map Editor help needed

how to rotate items like walls in the editor? ( was not able to find any information about that )

It should be the same key as in game (default is r)
you can't rotate walls though.

hmpf.... if i cannot rotate walls i would not be able to build something square like in the editor. it will look really messy the walls do not connect automatically in the editor looks weird.

does not work for me
iam only able to place them horizontaly

How exactly do you place walls verticaly?

you're using the wrong tab.
the tap you want to use is the "entity" tab (the third one)
take the hand tool, select an entity, and right click to place it.
you can use "x" to delete an entity while hovering above it.

Open the placed chest with right-click and put the items in it.
