... And I have to turn it on manually without any error. Arch Linux, KDE 64 bit, non-steam vanilla Factorio. The issue dates back to as far as I can tell, probably even IndieGoGo campaign version.

It does stil persist in .15.19 (current version).

It sounds very much like the linked post is connected to this one. For additional info I can turn the compiz on back without any problem (in fact I do).
