Re: Crash in preview
Post more logs with crashes please.
Re: Crash in preview
Happy do post any logs possible. Do you want logs from additional examples of the crash or other logs from the same crash?
Re: Crash in preview
Any new crash you get, post it.
Re: Crash in preview
It happens every time I go to preview so I can generate as many as are helpful. Here are 5 more. On 3 and 4, the message box that asks if you want to go to the crash dump folder did not pop up, and no dmp file was created. On 5, the message box did pop up, but disappeared without me clicking any buttons and no dmp file was created.
It is installed through Steam, and I did "Verify integrity of the game files" and it passed. I have the Space Exploration mod installed, but all mods except "Base mod" are disabled when this happens.

Re: Crash in preview
Thank you for the logs. Those crashes are similar but not the same. Considering that we have not changed this code in a long time and nobody else reported crashes in it, the map preview code is heavily multi-threaded and that you have a i7-14700K, this is likely a hardware issue. See viewtopic.php?p=614894#p614894 for more info and possible workarounds.
If you get no other crashes, you can also try to reduce the amount of threads used by the map preview to not stress the CPU so much: In the main menu, ctrl + alt + click on Settings, click on The rest, search for max-map-preview-threads and lower the number.

Re: Crash in preview
Ah, thank you. This is a new PC and this is the first time I have tried to run Factorio on it. I'll look into that.
Re: Crash in preview
If the CPU is also brand new then it is somewhat unlikely it is that specific problem I linked to in my first post. It's more likely that this is a general hardware issue. Bad power supply, not properly seated RAM or badly overclocked RAM, that kind of thing. Good luck troubleshooting!
