I could have created the sticky you required, but right now, there's nothing I can warn about, there are no mod breaking changes annouced for a future release of Factorio.
I could have stickied this one, but ... that would have been too late :)
Isn't this already stickied or did I mess something up?

Oh yeah, I didn't even watch :) I think what was asked is a unique persistant locked thread that announces future mod breaking changes (without discussions underneath).
Modders would subscribe to this topic and get a notification only when a new post - by the devs - would announce new changes.

Please excuse the pestering -- but wasn't sure if any forum mods had seen my suggestion?

No worries! As the old Italian proverb, "nessuna nuova buona nuova", no news is good news :D

I added the topic, but it is a bit weird to have such an empty topic :p

I feel well informed now, thank you :D

I bet even with the new sticky someone will complain about informing to late - so what...

The API changes are a complete pain.
Can you please make beta 0.17.31 permanently available for downloading so it never gets phased out?

It will take me 3 days to fix all of the API changes you've done otherwise.

With all the negativity around let me say: Thank you!
I welcome any change that makes the mod api more consistent in it's naming of things.
Next on my wishlist: rename runtime "global" to "savedata" .

(And i'll take the opportunity to linke to an old related interface request :p)

Thanks for making that. <3

It's not weird. Now I can subscribe to it before the news are out, which is the entire point. If it didn't start out empty it would start after it is needed, late, which is the worst timing for a heads up warning system. ;)
