Splitters

Is there any mods that has a splitter that splits it in to 2 lanes but takes up 1 or 3 tiles on the map?

so if I had a boiler set up and pump my coal through the middle of it so it looks like this:

and then split it in to the two outer lanes in a nice formed way. not having 1 side out of shape?

So you want a splitter, but with a gap in the middle?

I've not looked into it personally, but I think the splitters might be a little... hardcoded on positions. It's worth looking into though.

Surely you can do that easily by just running a conveyer belt to the side...
I guess you may want it looking symmetrical or I just do not understand what you are asking

Try some mods? The splitter - as all belt logic - is hardcoded, so you're not gonna see nice ones
any time soon as mods need to reimplement them on the lua side (slow).

Or...just get used to unsymmetric layouts. :geek:

Yes, there is a mod with splitters (can't look what it's called at the moment). One of them is 1x1 and can output to the sides. It's for filtering but you can filter coal more than once. So you connect an input belt from the left and output belts top and bottom and set them to filter coal. But then you need 5 tiles in the middle since the output needs to go straight up or down, no side loading and the belt doesn't curve connected to the splitter.

Now the problem is that custom splitters need to be hacked together in lua. They kill your performance if you use them frequently. It also didn't have full throughput with a red belt, only yellow. So I stopped using the mod.

Your Factory can be thought of in two ways:
1. A way to make stuff
2. A work of art

If you think of it as a work of art, then at least you have a reason for wanting it to be symmetrical, otherwise, why are you asking this question?

If you're simply asking how to split a belt into 3 even parts you can do that with normal splitters, but it'll take a little space.

Are you looking to do something like this?
(New boilers)

when I was asking it was a line of coal comes in and then wanting it to go to the sides to split in to 2 lanes but with the splitter that has a 3 x 1 print so it would just look good and function but I just got on with it and did not care as much but I do like things to look good and organised and not look like a mess
