While running today evening i had an idea for a wholly preposterous mod...

A mod which could add some monuments and some achiements ?

statue of freedom
Mount rushmore
pyramid

what ever essential a big resource sink and some impressing gfx in game

While its not much of a technicall problematic mod (just recipes and proper defined gfx) it calls for some people with gfx knowledge

While this is a good idea in principle but other mods solve this issue.
Space Exploriation
Space extension mod

But adding another mod that solves this issue of having to do something in the end game is a good idea.
But maybe this could be an alternative research method where instead of unlocking individual things you unlock Ages instead.
and the bonuses for weapons could be replaced with a building that gives them a bonus every x resources and that x amount would grow the more bonuses you get out of it. And all of the tracking for the bonuses would be global so you don't just remove and place a building for infinite bonuses for the same price.

Because it cannot be another end game research tree as we have a lot of them already.

Try this mod: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Rocket-Silo-Construction

And if you get hold of the graphics (with appropriate licensing) for the monuments you want (Factorio entities are draw at a 45deg down angle, mostly) then it's pretty trivial to make the mod.
