With parameterized blueprints it's possible to specify quality for recipes that take only fluid ingredients. First you have to blueprint a recipe that allows quality, parameterize it and then choose another recipe when pasting the blueprint.

Crafting machines configured this way would typically still produce normal quality results. However, if the quality modifier of the crafting machine changes in the middle of the crafting process, the in-progress results get reset to match the recipe quality.

Effectively this means that you can guarantee legendary results in recipes that take only fluid ingredients and this process can be automated.

I have attached a blueprint below to demonstrate the issue. You may need to clear the output slot manually once, but after that all subsequent crafts should be legendary quality.

Wow, I can confirm that this actually works and is kinda insane.
As Sample describes it basically turns every only-fluid recipe into a guaranteed legendary craft, some recipes that come to my mind this instant:

- Holmium plates (as shown)
- Sulfur
- Solid Fuel
- Every molten iron or copper craft...

I wrote a simple lua script, and here are the ones it gave me:

• Sulfur
• Holmium plate
• Ammoniacal solution separation (which gives you ice)
• Solid fuel:
  • from petroleum gas
  • from light oil
  • from heavy oil
  • from ammonia
• Casting:
  • pipe
  • iron
  • copper
  • steel
  • iron gear wheel
  • iron stick
  • copper cable
