Oh wow I've just updated a few hours ago...

Hey thanks for adding the close button "x" on the electric graph window. Wanted to ask for that before 1.0 drops.

It seems like the headless downloads got broken due to a wrong SSL certificate.

Code: Select all

requests.exceptions.SSLError: HTTPSConnectionPool(host='dcdn.factorio.com', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /updates/core-linux_headless64-0.18.28-0.18.29-update.zip?key=_________&expires=_______ (Caused by SSLError(CertificateError("hostname 'dcdn.factorio.com' doesn't match 'eu1.factorio.com'",),))

Reworked Engine unit icon.
Much better :)

Now it's a combustion engine at first glance and the electric engine is still clearly distinct from it
Tweaked the color of Sulfur icon.
I didn't mind the old color, but in retrospect it was a bit bright.

What is the archive variable for?

Thank you! The engine unit definitely looks a lot better than just a pair of wheels. I also really dig the sulfur color change.

personally i was ok with the couple of wheels as an "engine unit". What had always bothered me is how you need a combustion engine to make an electric engine, but whatever, i don't mind that much.

What i do mind is how slowdown capsules are smaller than poison capsules......... but apparently nobody else noticed this??

I thought these 2 icons were made different size to help people to see the difference. Just a random assumption. In any case, I don't think it's problematic to have 1 icon smaller than the other one.

I doubt any graphic designer in their right mind would purposefully slightly reduce the size of something to convey a difference, especially since the capsule's color is already enough to differentiate it from the other one.
If you needed more differences you could change the grenade's look, orientation, but not slightly reduce its size. One can safely assume that since the two icons were made at different times, one of the two could have gotten exported at a wrong resolution or something.

I should've just reported this immediately. I think you could notice even from the FFF where the icons were first shown. If necessary i'll just make a thread about it in a more appropriate section.

Speaking of certs...

At least when 1.0 comes around, will y'all begin signing the executable so Windows won't call it a scary unknown file? (And, more importantly, so we know it hasn't been tampered with when we download it and install it.)

I like the new engine icon a lot better than the previous one. Thank you for updating it. It looks a bit like a hot-rod engine now. :-)

I noticed :)
If you really want to get into the nitty gritty, the slowdown sprites when thrown are actually around a pixel wider than poison capsules when thrown too :)
Being realistic, you'd never actually notice that in game.

Thanks for updating the engine. It now looks like an engine and not a timing belt.
