Bugfixes
- Fixed that some of the textboxes didn't allow to write characters bound for different actions when focused. (72666)
- Fixed a desync related to removing rail signal that merges two rail blocks reserved by different trains into one.
- Fixed that the belt-gap-fill logic could replace splitters/underground belts in some cases. (73023)
Modding
- Added LuaPlayer::connect_to_server().
Use the automatic updater if you can (check experimental updates in other settings) or download full installation at
http://www.factorio.com/download/experimental.

I got a crash after updating from .53 to .55 but the next run is fine. saved the log if the @Devs are interested.
I'm running a standalone version (non-steam), since 0.17.9 came out in a non-default location configured to read mods and saves from under the game folder.

1. Non-steam install, replies "Update failed" after less than a second.
2. On the downloads page, "404 Not Found" errors when clicking on links to download Factorio_x64_0.17.55.zip and Factorio_x64_0.17.55.exe
...is there a log of the update attempt that I can upload here?

Thanks! It'll be fun just experience this functionality implemented in the Gridlock Cluster event and see how it makes the gameplay feel. It may sound dumb, but this really feels like a big deal to me since it's not functionality I can recall encountering in other games I've played.

Minecraft has mods for almost everything, including portals that go to other servers. ;)

I believe Quake II also implemented portals to other servers. And, of course, Second Life does it in the background all the time because each world chunk is handled by a different server.
